Pushing the limits of kitchen appliance design

Whirlpool’s super-premium JennAir brand plans to set a new high-water mark for luxury kitchen appliances when it reveals its latest collection and creative collaborations at this week’s Kitchen & Bath Industry Show (KBIS) in Las Vegas.
“This year is all about creating an experience that pushes the limits of what luxury in the kitchen can be,” said Anthony Pastrick, JennAir’s senior brand manager. “We’re excited for visitors to explore our newest product offerings, see our exciting collaborations and experience firsthand how JennAir is redefining design, performance and innovation.”
Among the introductions:
- A 36-inch downdraft induction cooktop with quiet but powerful extraction system that works five times faster than steam can rise, all within a slim profile that liberates kitchen design from bulky hoods and cabinet constraints.
- Refrigerator columns with vacuum-insulated SlimTech structure technology, which makes its North American debut with a major appliance manufacturer. The columns, both SlimTech and otherwise, will be finished in a variety of unique materials and tactile textures including leather, along with a 10-column grouping created in concert with Nature Squared, a Swiss-based ethical design brand that creates innovative luxury surfaces using eggshells and other organic materials.
- A professional-style induction range with tactile knobs for intuitive control, dual-fan true convection and a chrome-infused griddle that can be easily cleaned with water and a cloth.
- JennAir wine columns in 18- and 24-inch configurations with left or right swing and Rise and Noir design combos that offer consistent temperatures, ideal humidity control, reduced vibration and UV protection through amber lighting.
The products will be presented within three distinct sections within the Whirlpool booth (#W1801) to underscore their unique features. Other highlights will include live daily cooking demonstrations with James Beard Award-winning chef Andy Baraghani and two exclusive happy hours hosted by JennAir design collaborator Kerrie Kelly, vice chair of the National Kitchen & Bath Association (NKBA).
