Simulated showroom experience provides dynamic visual tour

BrandSource partner Coaster Fine Furniture was on tap at press time to unveil Phase 2 of its recently launched online showroom.

The virtual sales floor, which debuted late last year, gives buyers and merchandisers an interactive look at the company’s Las Vegas and High Point showrooms. The dynamic visual tour features red “location” buttons that lead the viewer to product names, SKU numbers, descriptions and more.

Plans called for Coaster to roll out the second phase of the project ahead of this week’s Winter Las Vegas Market. The expected update allows dealers to log into their accounts to check inventory, view stock and fill their carts while navigating the virtual space, which is a digital representation of Coaster’s actual 30,000-square-foot showroom in High Point.

“Markets have evolved over the years, and our new virtual experience will more effectively serve our customers,” said Marlene Vidal, Coaster’s director of marketing. “The site enables buyers to plan their tour before they visit, follow up afterwards, share their discoveries with colleagues who might not have attended the show with them and will ultimately offer many other services to make their experience with Coaster much more efficient and convenient.

“This virtual experience will not substitute for the actual showroom experience, but like our catalogs will be another tool for them to use,” Vidal said.

Retailers and designers without existing accounts can explore the product line as they would at a trade show, create wish lists and apply for an account.

Vidal emphasized the added post-show benefits for buyers, noting that the virtual platform allows them to revisit products, share selections with colleagues and streamline decision-making.

“Trade shows can be overwhelming for busy buyers, and the virtual experience enables them to go back and see products again, even when the show is over,” she said.
