It’s the dead of winter with snow and ice blanketing the landscape … meaning it’s the perfect time to begin thinking about lawn care season.

To help get your outdoor assortment started, new lawncare startup Lymow has introduced what it describes as the world’s first smart robotic lawn mower with mulching blades and tracked treads.

Formally launching at next week’s CES tech extravaganza in Las Vegas, the company’s Lymow One offers smart navigation without boundary wires and the promise of top-tier performance on any terrain and grass type.

Designed to replace traditional mowers, the company said its trailblazing robotic mower features an upgraded mulching deck, advanced LySee navigation and “unparalleled terrain adaptability,” with five times more daily coverage than competitive models. Its advanced RTK-VSLAM combined navigation and smart object detection ensures precise and effortless mowing, Lymow noted, and its industry-leading safety features provide an efficient and reliable mowing experience.

“Most robotic mowers today are built for small yards, but many U.S. homes have large, complex lawns,” said Lymow founder/CEO Wangshu Gao. “As a result, these mowers often serve as a supplement rather than a true replacement for traditional mowers. With Lymow One, we’re taking a different approach. Our product is designed to fully replace traditional mowers, delivering superior automated lawn care — better results, less time, lower costs, and minimal effort.”

Features include:

  • A 16-inch-wide LyCut dual blade mowing deck, incorporating professional-grade mulching blades typically found on traditional and rider mowers
  • An intelligent brushless motor with a peak output of 1,200W that drives the mulching blades to spin at 6000 RPM
  • A LySee Multi-Fusion Navigation System which combines Real-Time Kinematic (RTK) satellite positioning and Visual Simultaneous Localization and Mapping (VSLAM) technologies for unmatched autonomous lawn care
  • Tracked tread propulsion that delivers unrivaled speed, stability and agility, covering 0.23 acres/hour, 0.57 acres/charge and 1.73 acres/day
  • A smart path planning feature that ensures perfectly aligned stripes vs. random paths
  • A one-piece, die-cast aluminum alloy frame and upgraded IPX6 waterproof rating for durability, plus a LiFePO4 battery that delivers more than double the charge cycles of standard lithium-ion batteries for years’ long reliability.

After a highly successful Kickstarter campaign that raised over $3.5 million, the newly enhanced Lymow One is now in production and slated for delivery in April 2025 with a suggested retail price of $2,999.

The team behind the robo mower is comprised of PhDs and doctoral candidates with technical expertise in AI and robotics. Led by Gao, who spent eight years helming the R&D department at SharkNinja, they boast a proven track record of “delivering and refining multi-million-unit robotic products,” the company said, “and offer a seamless experience in bringing intelligent yard maintenance to homes.”
