BrandSource luxe appliance partner Fisher & Paykel (F&P) has launched a new modular collection of cooktops that allows consumers to create their own combination of induction and teppanyaki cooktops and ventilation units.

Each configuration of the company’s Series 11 and 9 Modular Cooktop Family features a primary modular induction cooktop with an intuitive touchscreen that controls up to nine cooking zones and two ventilation modules. The induction cooktops are available in black ceramic glass and the teppanyaki cooktops are finished in stainless steel for a minimalist design aesthetic.

The series, Fisher & Paykel said, offers design flexibility and a safer and more sustainable way to prepare food at home.

Induction Seduction

“When it comes to cooking appliances, our customers care about power, precision and efficiency,” said Sam Zalin, F&P’s vice president of product – USA. “Induction offers those and more, which is why we’re thrilled to bring this dynamic series to market as an extension of our current induction offerings. With numerous configurations to choose from, the potential culinary and customization opportunities for individuals are unparalleled.”

Providing complete temperature control, users can choose from nine different heat levels across the primary cooktop, including a PowerBoost option to bring a pot from boil to simmer in seconds. The touchscreen also manages internal timers which can hold cook zone temperatures for an extended period to keep sauces warm or soups at a boil.

The primary cooktops offer two, four or five cooking zones, depending on the size of the module, and owners can pair front and rear cook zones to create a “Smart Zone” when using griddles or other large cookware for added flexibility.

Mix ’n Match

Each Modular Cooktop Family configuration can be scaled to fit specific kitchen layouts and usage by combing a 36-, 30-, 24- or 15-inch primary induction cooktop module with a range of auxiliary induction and teppanyaki cooktops and downdraft or overhead ventilation.

The teppanyaki cooktops, also powered by induction, provide quick and even heat distribution, up to 430 degrees, for grilling, frying or sautéing directly without additional pots or pans.

As an additional cooking tool, Fisher & Paykel’s new wireless temperature sensor is included with each primary cooktop base and pairs with the SmartHQ application to give users ultra-precise temperature monitoring.

Founded in 1934, New Zealand-based F&P today operates in 30 countries, fed by manufacturing facilities in Italy, Thailand and Mexico. The company was acquired by GE Appliances’ parent Haier Group in 2012, and maintains a U.S. headquarters in Costa Mesa, Calif.
