Iconic character available to dealers in specially-made videos

Allstate Protection Plans is bringing a bit of “Mayhem” to BrandSource members, thanks to a new collaboration featuring the company’s iconic master of disaster.
Effective immediately, BrandSource dealers can showcase a series of entertaining Mayhem videos on their BrandSource Apple TV systems (AVB TV) and Alta websites. Featuring actor Dean Winters, the new clips have been specifically tailored to feature both major appliances and furniture — two of the biggest investments that customers make in their homes.
True to his character, the videos find Mayhem causing chaos by breaking kitchen appliances, pulling the plug on big-screen TVs and turning a living room into a disaster zone with damaged furniture. The spots convey that while accidents and mishaps are simply a part of life, a little extra protection can make all the difference for big-ticket items.
“These videos are a fun, engaging way to highlight the need for protection and the peace of mind that Allstate Protection Plans offer,” said Chris Trewin, senior director of growth strategy for the extended service plan provider.

The videos can play in-store play on BrandSource Apple TV systems, adding an extra layer of entertainment while customers shop for appliances or furniture. Online, the Mayhem videos can be hosted on individual dealer websites to keep customers engaged and help dealers stand out, while reinforcing the message that accidents happen but being prepared is key.
“At the end of the day, we all know that mayhem can happen anytime, anywhere,” Trewin said. “When it does, Allstate is there to get you back to good — and that’s something your customers will appreciate.”
