Steve Terry, who spearheaded Almo Corporation’s Premium Appliances division for the past 10 years, is retiring as the unit’s senior VP and COO, but will continue in a consultative role for the Philadelphia-based home goods distributor.
The announcement follows last month’s appointment of former Fisher & Paykel Sales VP Maggie Kassebaum to lead the company’s luxury appliance business.

Terry is credited with enhancing operations, developing strategic partnerships with major manufacturers and expanding the division from 33 to 41 states during his tenure. He assumed the top spot five months after joining Almo as VP of what was then its Specialty Products group, succeeding former Frigidaire exec Jay Penney.
Terry previously served as an executive VP at Hadco, a major independent white-goods distributor that was later acquired by Viking Range.
In a statement, Almo President/CEO Martin Szpiro said Terry leaves “a legacy of industry-leading customer service and remarkable growth.”
Szpiro himself succeeded third-generation owner Warren Chaiken in April, following the sale of the family-held business to Dublin, Ireland-based tech distributor Exertis in December 2021.
