Convention 2024 proved doubly rewarding for members

For many lucky BrandSource members, the icing on the cake that was Convention 2024 was a free refrigerator, a trip to an exotic locale or something enviable in between.
Thanks to the group’s vendor partners, attendees had multiple opportunities to test their skills or try their hand at lady luck on the EXPO floor, as exhibitors hosted a range of contests, sweepstakes and giveaways.
Here’s just a small sampling of prizes that members garnered while making their EXPO rounds, courtesy of our Convention exhibitors.
Unique Appliance
Latest BrandSource Financial partner Unique Appliance raffled off a 12-cubic-foot Classic Retro bottom-mount refrigerator at the BSF booth. Drawing the lucky ticket was Dan DeRouin, principal of Pioneer TV & Appliance and an ardent proponent of AVB’s in-house financing arm.
Electrolux
In addition to five Fast Cash Plinko winners, Shauna Runkle of Ja Mar TV Appliances & Bedding and Bill Gilbert of Gilbert’s Hardware & Appliance left Convention 2024 a tad more chill thanks to the ice makers they won at the Electrolux booth.
Bosch
Riester’s Appliances owner BJ Riester better pack his thermals next year when he sets off on an all-expense-paid Alaskan cruise, courtesy of BSH’s Bosch and Thermador brands.
LG Electronics
Five talented putters took home a host of LG kitchen and laundry appliances by sinking not one, not two, but three holes-in-one at the LG Electronics booth. The winning golfers included Sue Schinke of Lyle’s TV & Appliance, who is handing over her winnings — an LG WashTower combo unit — to her 83-years-young mom, Millie.
“My mom is constantly drooling over my LG laundry pair with the steam-refresh feature, and she brings her bedding to our home for help in washing,” Schinke said. “Now, she will no longer have to do so. Many thanks to LG! Receive a blessing, be a blessing.”

The Whirlpool family of brands was particularly convivial at Convention 2024, with major appliance giveaways from each of its five badges:

Yes, even yours truly was in the giving spirit at Convention 2024, where the YSN wheel spun out a range of prizes that featured Electrolux vacuums, a Victrola and a Walker Edison Chantelle arched bookshelf with glass doors. Other prizes, and their new owners, included:
- A Liberty Furniture recliner that went to Chad Ayers of Allendale True Value
- A trio of Opal ice makers, won by Cindy Schiller, Nampa Appliance; Sarah Just, Purchase Appliances; and Sandy Pitts of Sheely’s
- A Surya rug, to Thomas Short of Bell’s Home Furnishings
- Amazon gift cards for JoAnne Keen of Frank’s Appliance Center & Sleepsource and Chris Matson of Heins Appliance
Other Convention gifts and prizes included multiple small appliances courtesy of GE Appliances; Serta’s Trip of a Lifetime vacation package, to Kusel’s; and Tempur Sealy giveaways at its training sessions and the Women in Business gala.
