Elkhorn, Wis. business honored during BrandSource Convention

Lyle’s TV & Appliance of Elkhorn, Wis., was named the 2024 BrandSource Dealer of the Year for the Greater Midwest Region during the BrandSource Convention in Dallas. Co-owners Tom and Sue Schinke were honored during the event.
The family business was started by Tom Schinke’s father Lyle in 1956 as a TV repair shop, and has since evolved, in both size and assortment, into a retail destination for appliances, electronics, mattresses and custom integration services.
Besides loyally serving Elkhorn customers for two generations, Schinke attributes Lyle’s TV’s success to its membership in BrandSource. The national, dealer-owned cooperative offers a wide range of retail support services including transactional websites, digital marketing, in-store displays, consumer and inventory financing, volume discount programs and invaluable peer-to-peer networking, which became crucial as the internet and national big-box chains altered the retail landscape.

“Becoming a member was one of the wisest decisions ever,” Schinke said. “BrandSource has an endless supply of resources to help you run a business — from ‘soup to nuts,’ as they say.”
The BrandSource Dealer of the Year awards are presented annually to members like Lyle’s TV & Appliance that have demonstrated a continued commitment to excellence in the retail industry and to their fellow BrandSource dealers. The winners, who are selected by the members within each of the group’s 14 regions, must also show their support of BrandSource and its vendor partners by attending regional meetings and national events such as the annual Convention and Summit.
