Samsung has teamed up with Disney and Pixar to tout its new Bespoke AI Laundry Combo via a co-created video.

The animated collaboration, called “Emotions in Laundry,” plays off this month’s release of the studios’ “Inside Out 2” feature film. In the clip, Samsung playfully demonstrates how its first all-in-one washer and dryer can help reduce negative emotions and bring joy to the laundry experience.

“This collaboration with Disney and Pixar’s ‘Inside Out 2’ let us showcase our product benefits in a fresh way with Pixar’s storytelling expertise,” said Samsung Vice President Jinny Jung.  “We will continue to introduce various promotions and marketing to show the innovative features of [the] Bespoke AI Laundry Combo to consumers.”

The video features four of the film’s emotion characters, each mirroring the sentiments consumers experience while doing laundry. With a whimsical touch, the spot demonstrates how the Combo’s core features address the emotional aspects of laundry routines, and allow for what Samsung describes as “a delightful journey through the washing process.”

“There are a lot of emotions going on inside, but we have Bespoke AI Laundry Combo, which takes care of your emotions,” the voiceover states.

The product itself features machine-learning functionality that “remembers” user habits and personalizes their experience with cycle suggestions based on clothing type and cleaning preference. The unit also responds to voice commands via Samsung’s Bixby digital assistant. The washer and dryer share a 5.3-cubic-foot-capacity drum, which can clean and dry a full laundry load in 98 minutes using the Super Speed cycle setting, the vendor said.

The film, released in theaters last week, introduces a new suite of emotions for its teenage protagonist Riley, and is voiced by a cast that includes Amy Poehler, Maya Hawke, Lewis Black, Diane Lane and Kyle MacLachlan.

The laundry video is streaming now on Samsung’s social media channels, including YouTube, Instagram, X and Facebook.
