Hot on the heels of GE Profiles’s UltraFast Combo, LG Electronics has rolled out a combination washer/dryer all its own.
The WashCombo All-in-One laundry unit (WM6998HBA) made a splash last week at the CES electronics show in Las Vegas and is already hitting retail floors. The 5.0-cubic-foot frontloader features a direct-drive motor and inverter heat pump technology for fast and energy-efficient functionality and, together with its ventless design and standard 120v plug, easy placement within the home.
Specifically, the mega capacity WashCombo can run complete a wash and dry cycle in under two hours while using up to 60% less energy than a vented model, LG said, without ever having to transfer the laundry load. In addition, the All-in-One features five powerful jets that spray clothes from multiple angles for a complete clean in under 30 minutes, while its Allergiene wash cycle uses steam to remove more than 95% of any embedded dust, pet dander or pollen.
Other key features include an automatic detergent dispenser, an LCD digital dial and an easily accessible lint filter, plus built-in AI-enabled sensors that detect fabric texture, soil level and load size and automatically select the appropriate wash/dry motions and temperatures for optimum laundry care. The unit is also compatible with multiple pedestals and riser options to further customize the laundry space.
The WashCombo is available in black steel finish and is retailing for $1,998.
