Maytag is rolling out a new series of competitively-priced kitchen appliances that meld power and performance with durability and modern design.
The brand’s Performance Lineup of stainless steel appliances includes a large capacity fridge, a range that simmers and sears with precision, a microwave that handles splatters and spills and a dishwasher with enhanced cleaning and drying power, all backed by a 10-year limited part warranty.
The Whirlpool unit said the new platform checks off all the boxes in a recent homeowner survey, in which nearly three-fourths of respondents said durability (73%), functionality (72%) and performance (70%) are “very important” when it comes to home appliances like refrigerators, ovens and dishwashers.
“Not only is this lineup stacked with power, it touts a new Maytag badge with elevated touch points such as handles and knobs,” said Lauren Bigger, Maytag’s senior brand manager. “While we prioritize performance, we know appliance aesthetics and overall kitchen design is very important to homeowners. This kitchen collection has the same Maytag dependability our shoppers know and trust, but now with a new modern look and feel.”
The new collection includes:
- A 25 cubic foot, 36-inch wide side-by-side refrigerator (MRSF4036PZ/B/W) with gallon door bins and metal shelf
- A hybrid tub dishwasher (MDTS4224PZ/B/W) with enhanced high-heat wash and heated fan-dry cycles
- A 5.3 cubic foot steam-clean range (MER4800PZ) and self-cleaning gas range (MGR6600PZ) with variable broil and either 6- and 9-inch Dual-Choice elements or five gas burners
- A 1.7-cubic-foot over-the-range microwave (MMMS4230PZ) with non-stick interior and dishwasher-safe turntable plate.
Retail prices for the Performance Lineup range from $359 for the microwave and $701 for the dishwasher to $899 for the range (electric) and $1,529 for the fridge. Bundled together, the complete suite carries a $3,488 price tag.
Maytag’s homeowner poll also found that while most respondents were happy with the current status of their kitchens, over half (53%) have future plans to renovate with the desire to achieve a new look (59%), create more space (42%) and update older appliances (40%).
Among the survey’s other findings:
- Most homeowners describe their ideal kitchen as spacious (77%), cooking-focused (68%) and modern (62%).
- When thinking about large kitchen appliances like refrigerators, ovens and dishwashers, half of homeowners say matching overall kitchen design (54%) and aesthetics (50%) are very important.
- Over two-thirds of homeowners (69%) say having the same brand of large appliances throughout the kitchen is important.
- Stainless steel (59%), black (42%) and white (34%) rise to the top when looking at preferred large appliance colors.
