Employees of Marcone, the St. Louis-based appliance parts distributor, joined thousands across the country last week who placed wreaths in cemeteries and memorial sites in honor of fallen soldiers.
The Marcone crew took part in Wreaths Across America, a national commemorative effort that to date has seen 2 million volunteers place wreaths at more than 3,700 cemeteries and veterans’ memorials across the U.S., Puerto Rico and abroad in an act of gratitude for their sacrifice.
The BrandSource partner had previously participated in Wreaths Across America with volunteer teams in St. Louis, Mo., and Tampa and Pensacola, Fla. This year, however, the company decided to expand its commitment and purchased 1,000 wreaths and organized teams in seven additional cities, including Dallas, Houston, New Albany, Ind., Corfu, N.Y., Holmdel, N.J., Bear, Del., and Middleton, Conn.
“At Marcone, we make a point of remembering that our freedom came at a high cost,” said CEO Avichal Jain. “We participate in Wreaths Across America as a remembrance of life and a show of gratitude. It was a privilege for us to be able to offer this small act as a way of acknowledging their ultimate sacrifice.”
Marcone is an authorized parts distributor for major appliance brands including Whirlpool/Maytag, Electrolux, GE, Bosch, Samsung and LG. The multi-billion-dollar business said it operates nearly 200 distribution centers across North America in order to “take great care of [our] clients” and fulfill their orders “with speed, reliability and accuracy.”
The company is also committed to giving back to the community, as it did this fall by raising funds for the families of injured and fallen first responders.
