Pantone, the color standard for graphic designers, paint producers and myriad industries, has named “Peach Fuzz” as its Color of the Year” for 2024. And Elmira Stove Works, makers of premium, vintage-inspired kitchen appliances, is already embracing the warm and fuzzy shade for its Northstar and Heritage lines.

According to Leatrice Eiseman, executive director of the Pantone Color Institute, its 13-1023 Peach Fuzz tone, a pink and orange blend, “brings belonging, inspires recalibration and an opportunity for nurturing, conjuring up an air of calm, offering us a space to be, feel and heal and to flourish from, whether spending time with others or taking the time to enjoy a moment by ourselves.”

The warm-and-fuzzy feelings that Peach Fuzz evokes are just fine for Elmira, said Tony Dowling, the vendor’s vice president of sales and marketing. “Our appliances embody the whole idea of home as a warm and welcoming place,” he said, “so Pantone 13-1023 and the emotional connections it represents are a perfect fit.”

Elmira is no newcomer to Pantone’s Color of the Year. “Manufacturing our appliances in Pantone’s Color of the Year is a real highlight every year,” Dowling said, made possible by the company’s unique ability to formulate and color-match virtually any supplied sample. “Keeping up with Pantone’s Color of the Year is another example of our enthusiasm for the concept of bringing an unexpected pop of color to kitchen design.”

Elmira offers its Northstar and Heritage collections of retro-look refrigerators, ranges and dishwashers in standard colors and over 200 RAL custom options in RAL Colors. To help select the perfect color for every kitchen, dealers, consumers and designers can utilize the company’s Build and Price Visualizer, an immersive online tool that renders the products in various shades and room settings in near-photographic clarity and detail. When complete, a detailed price estimate for the appliance package is provided and saved for future reference.

Designers can also access the Northstar and Elmira lines on the 2020 Design Cloud’s 3D CAD catalog.

Based in Ontario, Canada, Elmira Stove Works has been manufacturing vintage-style ranges since 1975 and offers full lines of “circa-1850” and retro/mid-century modern 1950s appliances including ranges, refrigerators, microwaves, wall ovens, range hoods, dishwashers and wood-burning cookstoves.
