Adds over 700,000 square feet of fulfillment capacity

Ashley Furniture Industries has added a ninth U.S. distribution and fulfillment center that brings more than 700,000 square feet of capacity to the company’s logistics network.
The multimillion-dollar facility, located in Spanaway, Wash., employs more than 250 associates in Ashley’s distribution operations, its affiliated brokerage, Ashley Pacific Northwest, and its Global Retail unit.
Plans call for an expansion of the warehousing complex to 1.1 million square feet, with groundbreaking already underway for the 395,000-square-foot addition.
“The continuous pursuit to better serve our customers has focused investments into distribution and logistics operations in the U.S.,” said president/CEO Todd Wanek. “This new facility is a significant step to expand our warehouse capacity to support brick-and-mortar retails operations, as well as our e-commerce growth.”
Wanek added that “The investments we’re making in our company and the expansions into new communities demonstrate our willingness to reinvest in our people, our facilities and our operations to ensure we are well positioned to meet and exceed our customers’ expectations.”
Ashley has invested more than $1.5 billion in capital expenditures over the past 18 months, including new upholstery factories in Arizona, Pennsylvania and Wisconsin.
