Cody Miller receives YSN’s inaugural HighFive employee excellence award

Cody Miller of Idler’s Home was named a 2022 Exceptional Employee-High Five Award winner by AVB BrandSource and YSN.
Miller, a 25-year veteran of the Paso Robles, Calif.-based business, was one of only five industry employees selected from across the U.S. and Canada to be honored with an inaugural HighFive award. Winners were chosen from nominations submitted across the home goods industry, including retailers, manufacturers and suppliers.

Recipients were selected for their exceptional ability to go above and beyond the call of duty. These are the staffers who do the heavy lifting behind the scenes, with little or no fanfare and deserve a collective “high five” from their peers.
Miller, who serves as the manager of the home furnishings Comfort Center at Idler’s Home, was nominated by company principal Jennifer Idler, who praised him for his ability to take on all that has been asked of him in his 25 years with the BrandSource member.
“Cody is never afraid of any challenge,” Idler said. “He meets them all head-on with a positive attitude. He loves bringing new ideas to the table and takes on way more than he should. He always does it with a great attitude and is never too busy to help out his teammates who support him wholeheartedly.”
Miller started out 25 years ago at the age of 18 working in the warehouse. He eventually moved up to delivery and installs. As he matured, management was quick to notice that his people skills would make him a natural for the sales floor. When Idler’s added furniture and mattresses to its core appliance business about 10 years ago and needed someone to lead that transition, Miller was an easy choice.
“He stepped up and accepted the challenge without hesitation” Idler said. “In the past 10 years, he has grown our comfort department to be a major contributor to our business. He is such a strong leader; we are so proud of him.”
It is for devoted employees like Cody Miller that the YSN HighFive Awards program was created. So congratulations Cody; we raise our collective arms in a high-five salute to you!
