AVB’s own Jennifer Baldwin was this year’s recipient of the annual Women in Business (WiB) Award.
Baldwin, VP of Customer Experience and Events, was bestowed the honor at a Summit 2022 ceremony yesterday afternoon before a packed attendee audience.
The award is a yearly rite of AVB’s Women in Business (WiB) organization, which was formed in 2014 to help empower, educate and inspire female professionals in the appliance, furniture, mattress and consumer tech sectors.
Baldwin, who joined AVB 15 years ago, was selected from a field of 11 for this year’s accolade. She accepted her award on the Main Stage, surrounded by past WiB award winners.
In a recorded interview, Baldwin cited her mother Rosemary as her “biggest inspiration.” Besides caring for the Events chief’s two young children while traveling on behalf of AVB, her mom also worked in retail for 30 years, where she earned a reputation for customer-first service in her New Jersey community.
Baldwin came to AVB at the ripe old age of 22 after responding to an ad on Craigslist for an Expert Warehouse (EW) account rep. She quickly ascended to national sales manager for major appliances, then pivoted to the new role of director of marketing and communications where, among other responsibilities, she honchoed AVB’s fledgling WiB and Young Professionals (YP) organizations and pitched in with event planning.
She would eventually head a formalized Events function as the group’s various conventions, regional meetings, training retreats and other gatherings grew to the current 90 outings a year.
As past WiB Award winner and AVB Hall of Famer Jackie King of Nampa Appliance TV & Mattress said, “I’m so proud to celebrate Jennifer’s award,” which coincides with Women’s History Month.
