Tomorrow marks the start of Design and Construction Week in Orlando, Fla., which is the overarching banner for two commingled industry events: The Kitchen & Bath Industry Show (KBIS) and the International Builders’ Show (IBS).

Sandwiched between the latest in kitchen cabinetry, roofing materials and plumbing supplies, attendees will find the newest product introductions from the leading lights of the home appliance industry. While most white-goods manufacturers are holding their fire until the official start of the shows, YSN brings you a taste of what will be unveiled at this week’s expo. More to come on Wednesday…

The North American subsidiary of Germany’s 123-year-old premium appliance maker will introduce the ProfiLine Dishwasher collection, a hybrid commercial and residential dishwasher designed to serve both work and home environments. Featuring a short, 24-minute wash cycle; high final-rinse temperatures of as much as 180 degrees that remove more than 99.9 percent of all viruses; and a flexible basket design, the ProfiLine can withstand the rigors of continuous use in office and work environments (up to five cycles per day and a minimum of 12,500 typical cycles in its lifetime), while providing all the conveniences of a premium home appliance. The outdoor and under-the-counter resource extends its Tobin Ellis Signature Series mobile bars with a limited-edition model that’s described as “the ultimate luxury bar on wheels that lets homeowners entertain guests wherever the party may take them.” The product features commercial-grade bar equipment and set-up, and is finished in a “toffee crocodile” recycled leather with an off-white “vanilla sugar” solid surface bar top. Perlick will also be showing its updated line of all-stainless undercounter residential refrigerators that boast one of the  fastest and most energy-efficient cool-downs in the industry, along with what the company calls the first and only all-stainless, marine-grade undercounter fridge for use on boats, in coastal backyards and other high-salt environments.

SMEG’s Unity model refrigerator commemorates last year’s 50th anniversary of Coke’s classic “Hilltop” TV commercial.

The 74-year-old Italian manufacturer of premium appliances (the name is an acronym for “Metal Enameling, Guastalla, Emilia”) kicks off its 2022 lineup with a pair of colorfully designed retro-refrigerators that leverage a new licensing partnership with The Coca-Cola Company. The Unity model commemorates last year’s 50th anniversary of Coke’s classic “Hilltop” TV commercial (“I’d like to teach the world to sing…”), while the Iconic fridge resembles the soft drink’s old-timey cold case dispensers. Speaking of beverages, company will also debut a built-in, 18-bottle wine cooler with stainless steel finish, black highlights and sleek glass accents, and features that include touch controls, LED light display, temperature alarm, and a child lock.

In addition, SMEG will show an updated collection of pro-style ranges; a freestanding French door fridge in stainless steel with two drawers, automatic ice maker and three fruit shelves; and a decorative Dolce & Gabbana Divina Cucina 36-inch, dual-fuel range with a painted-metal finish.
