Turning a Texas TV repair shop into a regional home goods destination

We continue our tribute to 2021’s BrandSource Dealers of the Year with a round of applause for Rodenbaugh’s Flooring America Kitchen Bed & Bath of Allen, Texas.
Owners Gary and Ronald Rodenbaugh were chosen for the award by their fellow Southwest Region members and were honored at the BrandSource National Convention in Nashville.
Rodenbaugh’s is the oldest continuing business in town, providing home goods to the greater Allen community since 1962. Originally a TV repair shop, the company has since grown into a regional destination for home appliances, kitchen remodeling, tile, floor coverings, and bedding. Operating out of a 30,000-square-foot downtown showroom with a staff of 25, the third-generation family business is led by Gary, who serves as president and heads the floor coverings division, and VP Ron, who manages the home appliance operation.
Besides its expansive assortment, dedicated staff, and delivery and installation services, Ron also credits his membership in BrandSource for contributing to the company’s success. “Belonging to BrandSource allows us to compete with the big-box stores and look just as big,” he said. “The backroom and marketing support allows us to focus our attention on our customers’ needs.”
Ron is returning the favor by serving on the Southwest Region board, a role he will extend into next year.
The BrandSource Dealer of the Year awards are presented annually to selected members who have shown their continued support of BrandSource and its direct suppliers. Dealers of the Year must demonstrate that support by attending regional meetings as well as national events such as the Convention and BrandSource Summit.
Honorees were selected by the membership within each of the organization’s 14 Regions, and are saluted for their commitment to excellence in the retail industry and for their service to their communities and fellow BrandSource dealers.
