STORIS Partners with BrandSource on e-Commerce Interface

It’s no secret that e-commerce growth has exploded over the last 18 months, with total online sales topping $791 billion, according to the U.S. Commerce Department.

To help meet this soaring demand, retail software provider STORIS has developed a Buying Group Interface for appliance, home furnishings and bedding dealers that has been integrated into AVB Marketing’s Alta e-commerce platform. The plug-and-play solution enables BrandSource dealers to seamlessly manage inventory across channels in real-time by accurately reflecting updates to product details, price and availability, STORIS said.

Dealers can also push BrandSource pricing into their STORIS inventory management solution, and in-store quotes created by sales associates can be sent to the member’s website for completion at home, with final sales orders submitted back to STORIS for order management, the company said.

STORIS said the interface packages the fundamental APIs needed to connect its retail software to Alta websites and share key data that enhances the customer shopping experience. The APIs are pre-configured, the company added, making it easy for BrandSource members to build seamless multi-channel experiences. By providing these fundamental connection points, STORIS aims to make website integration accessible to dealers of all sizes.

As AVB’s merchandising VP Chad Evans noted, “We have seen a huge spike in e-commerce business, which accelerated even faster during the early months of the pandemic and has brought many new customers to our dealers.”
