Family-owned and operated from the get-go, Excelsior Appliance Sales & Service, located in — where else? — Excelsior, Minn., was founded in 1958 as Excelsior Electric.
Twenty years later the company made the move into appliance sales and service, and most recently current owner Ryan Hartmann purchased the business from his uncle after 32 years of stewardship.
Hartmann joined Excelsior at 16, starting from the ground up and learning all he could from his uncle, from tech school, and from manufacturer trainings. He purchased the business four years ago to continue the family’s white-goods tradition.
The company carries core-brand appliances, parts, and scratch-and-dent merchandise in its lone Excelsior showroom. The dealer also provides delivery and installation services, and in-house and at-home repairs.
“We service everything we sell,” Hartmann said. “We believe in fixing something until it can’t be fixed before we have tell our customers they need to purchase a new appliance.”
Hartmann recently joined BrandSource from a different buying organization after meeting with Brian Lawrence, Great Plains and North Central Region Manager. “Brian was so likable, and we felt that this group offered a much more personable experience,” our newest member said.
