Whether you’re a BrandSource member or not, do yourself a favor and set aside an hour of your time to take part in a special Service Town Hall Meeting on Wednesday, May 5 at 11:00 a.m. CDT.
Following their well-received Service Day virtual event in November, BrandSource VP Jarred Roy and appliance director Paul Roth will join Member Relations manager Mike Porter and industry expert and BrandSource consultant Paul MacDonald for a nuts-and-bolts look at the servicing business. The goal: To guide all BrandSource servicing members to profitability within three years.
Indeed, if your service department is not making you a profit, your BrandSource National Service Committee, hosts of the Town Hall event, wants to help.

The good news is that over 80 percent of BrandSource appliance dealers also offer in-home service, which is a key competitive advantage in our ever-changing economic environment. Unfortunately, many of those same dealers believe that a service department is only there to support sales. Speaking as a former BrandSource member and store owner, simply viewing service as a cost of doing business is just plain wrong. Your service department should be a profit center just like every other part of your business.
For that very reason, BrandSource formed a ten-member National Service Committee two years ago, which has been working tirelessly behind the scenes ever since to create a roadmap for your future success. By increasing awareness, offering new educational opportunities, and developing creative strategic partnerships, they are working toward their goal of improving the state of the service industry for every single member.

Among its many initiatives, the National Service Committee has partnered with United Appliance Servicers Association (UASA), the industry’s leading trade group, which has provided support to independent servicing dealers for over 50 years. Together they have set out to change your way of thinking. If you’re not making a profit, they will teach you how to turn that red ink into black. And if your service department is already profitable, don’t worry — they’ll also help you find even more ways to grow your profits.

The members of the National Service Committee, along with UASA and the group’s other service industry partners, have made it their mission to make lasting and positive changes to the appliance service business, enabling BrandSource members to be profitable, sustainable, and highly regarded in their respective fields through meaningful programs that will both benefit and invigorate appliance servicers.
We know everyone is weary of Zoom meetings, but this will be different because you’re not just going to listen. We’re all in this together, so this will truly be a Town Hall gathering and your input is needed. Your feedback will help guide the direction and success of this group for many years to come.
