ProSource, the consumer tech and custom integration affiliate of AVB/BrandSource, has plucked a new Southeast regional head from the ranks of the audio industry.

Frank Marengo, the one-time national sales manager for Klipsch’s Jamo brand, has found a new home as Southeast District Manager for the specialty A/V buying group.

He succeeds Lani Godfrey, who joined ProSource vendor partner DMF Lighting last summer after five years with the organization.

Marengo comes to ProSource from Dynaudio A/S, Denmark’s premium loudspeaker brand, where he served as sales director for the Central and Western U.S., and was a member of the company’s six-person global home theater product development team.

Before that he spent over a decade at Klipsch, the 75-year-old premium audio business.

In his new role, the New Orleans-based Marengo will leverage his skills at building long-term business relationships, executing business plans and adapting quickly to marketplace changes to support ProSource members throughout the Southeast, ProSource said. The region encompasses Alabama, Georgia, Florida, Louisiana, Mississippi, the Carolinas, Tennessee, Virginia and West Virginia.

“I am very excited about working with the best integrators in the Southeast to help them become more profitable,” Marengo said. He said he recommended ProSource to many dealers during his vendor days, “because the organization truly cares about the well-being of its members.”

Member-governed ProSource is the largest consumer electronics merchandising group in the U.S., with more than $6 billion in annual sales by its 550-plus specialty retailers and custom integrators.

BrandSource, a unit of YSN publisher AVB Inc., is a nationwide buying group for independent appliance, mattress, furniture and CE dealers.
