Besides providing all the latest headlines, U.S. News & World Report is also chock-a-block full of rankings — everything from best cars and best colleges to best careers and best countries.
But when it comes to refrigerators, the publication called it a toss-up between two French-door models that tied for first place: Maytag’s MF12570FEZ and Samsung’s RF260BEAESR/AA.
The magazine liked the Maytag fridge for its in-door ice and water dispenser, PowerCold quick chill control, wide deli drawer and competitive price. In contrast, Samsung was favored for its considerable 25.5-cubic-foot capacity, twin cooling system and six-gallon bins.
Runners up in the rankings included Whirlpool’s WRB322DMBM bottom-mount; GE Appliances’ GSS25GSHSS side-by-side; and Samsung’s RF22N9781SG/AA counter-depth fridge, which all tied for second place.
