Time to Give Thanks, Continued…

By Andy Kriege, YSN

“Trade your expectation for appreciation and the world changes for you.” — Anthony Robbins

In the spirit of the Thanksgiving, YourSourceNews reached out to members, vendors and affiliated dealers to find out what they are most thankful for during this extraordinary year. We will be sharing their responses all this week.

While their answers are varied, the recurring theme in all of them has been a renewed appreciation for family. This Thanksgiving Week we invite you to focus on your families and to be filled with a spirit of gratitude for what they truly mean to you.

Family isn’t always blood. It extends to the people in our lives who want you in theirs.

This appreciation extends beyond our immediate families to that of our extended family of professional colleagues in our group, who give us unconditional support and encouragement throughout the year. There is always solace in knowing that whatever it is you are going through, somebody else has likely been there and done that. Lean on this extended family to help get through these times.

The Leier Family: Evan, Kevin, Karen and Ben

“In a world where we are facing a threat to our health and mortality and to many of the freedoms we covet, it is easy to feel we are all victims and live with self-pity. Our industry is one which has thrived through COVID while most others experienced mass unemployment and business closures. We should be very thankful for this and the good fortune of our position relative to others. I am most thankful for how COVID has slowed me down and brought my family and friends closer. I also am grateful for the connection of the people I work with who are alway looking out for each other, and I am grateful to experience how this challenge has brought out the best in people.”— Kevin Leier, Executive Vice President, Mega Group/BrandSource Canada

Halloween with the Weathers family: Eleanor and Jeff with their children Sam the Ninja, Will as Sherlock Holmes, and Abigail as an adorable Minnie Mouse.

“This time of the year I’m most thankful for my family. While 2020 has been unpredictable and crazy at times, when I come home from work everything is right. I’m very blessed to have these four in my life.”— Jeff Weathers, Weathers Furniture & Appliance, Boaz, Ala.

Libby with sons Ben and Rob

“This year I’m more thankful than in the past years with all that is going on in the world. I’m not taking things for granted — I miss seeing my family and friends and worry about everyone’s safety. Hopefully we will all stay safe and we will soon get to see each other again. Happy Thanksgiving to you and your family!”— Libby Baur, ASC Warranty
