One of BrandSource’s “newest” members is 30-year-old Thibault Appliances of Saint Albans, Vt.
Located in the northern most reaches of the Green Mountain State just 20 minutes from the Canadian border, Thibault extends BrandSource’s geographic boundaries while the group expands the company’s financial and e-commerce clout.
Thibault was launched in 1990 by the late Bob Thibault and his son Jeff. A family affair, Jeff’s mom, brother, and sister-in-law were enlisted into the business, along with a cousin, Tim Thibault. Tim, a co-owner who also serves as store manager, jokes that he was only brought in because Jeff ran out of immediate family.
The Thibault’s boast the largest appliance showroom in Northwest Vermont, and supplement the category with floor care products, central vacuum systems and in-house repairs. Indeed, the team prides itself on being a local, family-owned business that services what it sells.
That independent streak is what also attracted the company to BrandSource. “We think we will be better represented, since all members are owners and all the profits go back to the member owners,” Tim said.
Since joining the group in September, the Thibault’s have jumped feet first into BrandSource’s basket of offerings, including a new e-commerce site created by AVB Marketing, extended service plans, and the private-label BrandSource credit card.
