Part one of LG’s “Homestyle” campaign finds A-Rod preparing a home-cooked meal for his daughters with a little help from his celebrity friends.

Quarantines may have kept people apart this year, but a new social media marketing effort by LG Electronics is bringing a diverse group of celebrities together in the kitchen, albeit virtually.
The campaign, dubbed “Homestyle,” reminds viewers how the kitchen has become the heart and hearth of the modern home, and how meals bring friends and families together. The two-part video series features a host of sports, music, TV and social media celebrities — a.k.a. the Homestyle Squad — who whip up homemade meals with LG appliances while highlighting such product features as slow-melting Craft Ice, InstaView windows, and air fry technology.
In the first episode, baseball great Alex Rodriguez prepares a four-course homestyle meal for his daughters with a virtual assist from actor/singer Billy Porter; rapper 2 Chainz; Internet personality Baddiewinkle; and acclaimed event planner Mindy Weiss.
A forthcoming second episode will feature actor Jesse Tyler Ferguson; model Molly Sims; online personality Tabitha Brown; reality TV stars Lauren and Cameron Hamilton; and social media influencer Tipsy Bartender as they share their holiday recipes.
“Holiday meals and celebrations are going to look different this year,” said Peggy Ang, head of marketing at LG Electronics USA. “With our ‘Homestyle’ campaign, we aim to inspire people to find new ways to have fun at mealtime and to show them how easy it can be with the right appliances. With a fun, light-hearted approach, the content reminds us to enjoy life’s good moments together, whether it’s small gatherings at home or apart this holiday season.”
As part of the campaign, LG is supporting Meals on Wheels by providing 5,000 meals and visits to seniors across the country this holiday season, and is soliciting consumers’ personal recipes on Facebook, Instagram, TikTok and Twitter for a chance to win a virtual hangout with a favorite Homestyle Squad member.
