Finding Your Perfect Place for Convention

By Andy Kriege, YSN

Some things are just worth repeating.

In a YSN report last week, members shared their plans for viewing this Sunday’s 2020 Virtual Convention. The key takeaway: to get the most out of the show, attendees should step away from their businesses temporarily, just as they would for an on-site event, and find a quiet workspace from which to participate.

For members Steven Owen of Texas Appliance and David Jones of Jones Appliance & TV, the game plan calls for hunkering down in their home offices, away from the daily distractions of their stores.

But for Friedmans Appliance’s Matthew Leachman, and Duncan Kramer of Zeglin’s Home TV & Appliance, Convention will be a bit more formal, as both companies have booked space in local hotels for themselves and select staff.

“In this setting they will be able to give their undivided attention,” Leachman said of his attendee team. Added Kramer, “It is impossible to absorb very much when you have one eye on the screen and the other on the counter.”

So take Duncan’s advice and keep both eyes on the Convention this Sunday … from your quiet place of choice.
