BrandSource welcomes Ashland Appliance & Mattress to the AVB family.
Our new Northwest member is a third-generation appliance dealer that opened its first store in Bellflower, Calif., in 1955. Fast forward to 1980, when the company added an appliance parts business in Medford, Ore.
Four years later the dealer debuted a Maytag Home Appliance Center store, and followed that up in 2010 with its current Ashland Appliance & Mattress showroom in Ashland, Ore.
Still a family-owned and operated business, the company also runs a “sister” store, Active Appliance & Mattress Gallery, located in Grants Pass, Ore. Together the showrooms carry large and small appliances, mattresses, furniture, and parts and accessories, and provide appliance repair services.
Ashland owner Joel Jessee opted to join BrandSource after seeing that our members get the kind of personalized attention associated with a smaller organization while enjoying the merchandising and marketing clout of a $20 billion nationwide co-op. His retail credo, as shared on his LinkedIn page, is “To treat others the way I want to be treated [and] to offer a high level of service to all my customers that they can’t get from anybody else.”
