Serta Simmons Bedding (SSB), the nation’s largest mattress manufacturer, will sit out the summer and winter home furnishings Markets in Las Vegas.

In lieu of its participation in the summer show, the company will hold a virtual tradeshow from its headquarters in Doraville, Ga., in early August, according to a report in FurnitureToday.

“Given the uncertainty in the marketplace and continued cancellation of tradeshows and events, we have proactively pivoted away from summer and winter Las Vegas Markets,” the company said in statement.

Derek Miller, SSB’s Chief Sales Officer, described the company’s virtual event as “a unique and differentiated” approach that “prioritizes the health and safety of our employees, customers and partners, while providing an unforgettable product launch experience.”

The virtual tradeshow will include a live session, individual product line videos and customizable elements, FurnitureToday reported. The vendor will also attempt to safely accommodate customers who would prefer to review the new fall product introductions at on site at headquarters.

Product launches will include Beautyrest Harmony, a revamp of the Beautyrest Silver line, and an updated Serta Perfect Sleeper assortment.

“We think it’s important to strike the right balance between introducing our new products in a dynamic way, while also protecting the health and safety of everyone involved,” said Chairman/CEO David Swift.
