Daugherty Appliance Talks Fridge Sales, Safety on Local News

Minnesota BrandSource member Daugherty Appliance Sales & Service was featured on a local TV news segment this week regarding brisk refrigeration demand amid the COVID outbreak.

Co-owner Scott Boedigheimer told Fox21 that their refrigerators and freezers have been “selling like hotcakes” as consumers snap up additional storage space to stock up on food.

He also reported an uptick in sales of complete appliance suites as stay-at-home customers update their kitchens.

Boedigheimer, who operates stores in Cloquet and Duluth, used the occasion to remind viewers that both locations are open for business, and that he’s fully staffed to sell, install and service his merchandise while observing strict precautionary guidelines.

“We’ll work out the arrangements with you,” he told the news crew. “We’re following the rules that the CDC puts out there so you’re safe, we’re safe,” he said. “We don’t want anybody sick.”

“Our service department is the same thing,” he continued. “You call in, we’re going to ask you some questions. We want to find out how healthy your house is so that our people don’t get sick, and then we’ll come out and take care of your problem or bring you some new stuff.”

Boedigheimer added that freezer inventory is tight and urged shoppers to make their purchases now while product is still available.
