BrandSource’s Canadian cousin Mega Group is making its formal debut at an AVB Summit this week.
In their first official participation in a Summit gathering, the AVB affiliate and its BrandSource Canada dealers will participate in all Summit events, as well as attend to its own Mega Group matters.
Leading the Canadian contingent is Kim Yost, Mega’s recently named President and CEO. A longtime furniture retail chief exec who cut short his retirement to head the organization, Yost, accompanied by Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer Kevin Leier, will use the occasion of the Summit as his official introduction to the Mega membership.
Topping Mega’s agenda this week is the group’s Annual General Meeting (AGM) of shareholders, along with a Mega Group member Summit and a key Annual Meeting of BrandSource members.
According to the north-of-the-border buying group, the meetings are “an important opportunity for Mega to share its direction and provide its members with the tools required to be successful in this ever-changing retail landscape.” And, just as AVB/BrandSource has long espoused, “Participation is a key ingredient in keeping Mega’s membership connected to the group, to each other, and to the industry,” the group said in a website post.
What’s more, piggybacking its Annual General Meeting and Summit with this week’s AVB event “will allow members to take advantage of high-quality speakers and numerous education sessions in an impressive venue in Las Vegas,” Mega said.
To that we say, “Bienvenu and welcome!”
