Beginning March 22, Best Buy will no longer allow customers to enter its stores. In those states and locales where the electronics and appliance giant is still permitted to operate, employees will meet customers at curbside to perform all sales, online order handoffs, and returns and exchanges.
In addition, Best Buy has suspended all in-home installations, repairs and large-item haul-aways, and will only provide doorstep delivery at no charge.
In an open letter to customers, the company also noted that all employees are working on a voluntary basis, and that hourly volunteers are receiving a temporary pay increase. All others who were exposed to a confirmed case of COVID-19, feel ill, or need to stay home to care for children will continue to be paid, the retailer said.
