Yale Appliance + Lighting, the premium Boston-area BrandSource dealer, opened a third showroom earlier this month.
The long-anticipated outpost is located about an hour south of the city in Hanover, MA and is close to the beaches of Cape Cod Bay. According to a blog post by CEO Steve Sheinkopf, the two-story building was stripped down to its metal frame and remodeled to capture a seaside aesthetic, and at 22,000 square feet is the chain’s largest location.
The first floor features plumbing fixtures, marine-grade outdoor kitchens and grills, and eight live indoor kitchen vignettes from high-end brands like Miele, Thermador, Fisher & Paykel, Signature (LG) and Jenn-Air in both freestanding and built-in displays. Upstairs offers an expansive selection of integrated, pro-style and freestanding counter-depth refrigerators and undercounter refrigeration; a wall of live laundry pairs; and wall ovens, hoods, and gas, electric, dual-fuel and induction cooktops and 30- to 60-inch ranges in slide-in, freestanding and pro configurations.
To help explain it all, Yale has also placed “education stations” throughout the floor that illustrate the differences between products, how they work, and how they can be integrated into customers’ kitchens.
All told, more than 600 products are on display at the new store, which besides being the largest, is also the company’s most technologically advanced, Sheinkopf wrote.
A grand-opening event replete with Yale’s signature fresh-baked cookies was held on Jan. 4, and visiting Chef Steve Shipley was on hand to break in the new Sub-Zero, Wolf and Cove kitchen.
The Hanover store joins Yale’s existing showrooms in Framingham, MA and its flagship location in the Dorchester section of Boston. The 97-year-old business, now run by third-generation owner Sheinkopf, is a regional destination thanks to its rich mix of luxury appliances, plumbing fixtures and lighting, and a fastidious focus on customer service.
