Famous Tate Touted for Tortoise Initiative

By Alan Wolf

Famous Tate mascot Tater the Tortoise recently received a Certificate of Appreciation from Florida Wildlife Federation (FWF) president/CEO Preston Robertson at the group’s Annual Banquet to commemorate the retailer’s conservation and wildlife preservation efforts.

As Famous Tate’s Jason Horst explained, Tater dolls are regularly handed out to youngsters at the company’s 11 locations, and the BrandSource dealer accepts customer donations of $3 or more for any additional plush toys. All of the proceeds, along with an additional contribution from the company, are earmarked for the FWF, which uses the funds to place signs statewide that mark the habitats of the Florida Gopher Tortoise.

YSN is published by BrandSource parent company AVB Inc.
