Farm & Home Hardware of Ashland, Ohio, was named the 2019 BrandSource Dealer of the Year for the TriState Region on August 25 at the BrandSource National Convention & Expo at the Gaylord Texan in Dallas. Third-generation owner and CEO Scott Jerousek was honored at the buying group’s annual awards ceremony, which was held amid the hoopla of its four-day confab.
Scott’s granddad, Raymond Jerousek Sr., bought the business in 1960 after moving his family from Cleveland in search of a simpler life. Following initial struggles, the company grew by leaps and bounds, relocating twice in pursuit of greater floor space for its ever-expanding assortment.
Today, Farm & Home Hardware continues to serve the greater Ashland County community from three locations in Ashland and Wellington that carry everything from sporting goods, apparel and building supplies, to footwear, pet and livestock products, and appliances, TVs and furniture.
But despite all the changes along the way, the one constant is the Jerouseks’ commitment to the core principals upon which Scott’s grandfather, father and uncle built the business: customer service and community stewardship. As Scott says, “My family has put our name behind everything we sell. It’s a name the community knows; it’s a name you can trust. When you purchase … from our store, you not only become a customer at one of the best hardware stores in the country, you also become a part of the Farm & Home Hardware family.”
The BrandSource Dealer of the Year awards are presented annually to members who have shown continued support of BrandSource and its direct suppliers. A Dealer of the Year must support the group by attending regional meetings as well as national events such as the Convention and Summit.
This year’s 14 winners, which were selected by each region’s membership, demonstrated a continued commitment to excellence in the retail industry and to their fellow BrandSource dealers.
