Everything’s bigger in Texas, and BrandSource’s 2019 Convention & Expo, to be held here Aug. 24-27, is no exception.
The leading buying group for independent appliance, furniture, bedding and consumer tech dealers reports that the volume of exhibition space booked by vendors has broken all BrandSource records.
To house all those exhibitors, along with member dealers and guests, BrandSource is holding the Convention at the expansive Gaylord Texan Resort & Convention Center, a first-time venue for the group. Other show firsts will include:
- The most-ever marketing sessions, product trainings and furniture dealer seminars;
- The first-ever two-hour “deep dive” social media workshops, featuring experts on Pinterest and Instagram;
- The largest assembly of “Heavy Hitters” sales associates – selected for their selling acumen – who will attend specialized education sessions; and
- An even more exciting Stampede show specials session that promises first-time surprises.
Continuing the theme of “Everything’s bigger in Texas,” Jim Ristow, CEO of BrandSource parent AVB, is urging members to seize the opportunity of this month’s Convention to consider what their companies could be. “I challenge each and every one of you to think big on a Texas-size scale,” he writes in the current issue of YourSource Magazine. “I challenge you to push yourself out of your comfort zone and begin to dream about what you can do to take your business to the next level.”
Of course, it won’t be all business at the Convention. BrandSource will be celebrating the 50th anniversary of AVB in high style with a fireworks reception on Saturday night, and will co-host a Women in Business Luncheon, a Young Professionals networking event, and a Meet & Greet gathering for first-time attendees, among other on-site socials.
